Most of my favourite projects start being something entirely different. In the case of this biscuit jar, I started making the body of a teapot. While I was trimming it, I realised the wide lid was not ideal for a teapot because it would tend to loose heat faster (more area where the heat could scape from). I liked the roundness of the lid, though, so I thought it would be perfect as a container of some sort. This is when felt like I was unconsciously working on an urn. Why was I making an urn? I was troubled about it. It looked like it should contain the ashes of a cute animal. No, no, no. Why were these thoughts coming to me?! My husband was the one that suggested that it was a lovely biscuit jar. Ah, of course! I felt such a relief.
